Faith in the face of Unknown
• Series: Build the boat
Noah's Faith in a Corrupt World Genesis 6:9-12 describes how the world had become filled with wickedness, but Noah remained righteous. Despite the overwhelming sin around him, Noah trusted in God's warning about a coming flood, even though he had never seen rain. His unwavering obedience shows us that faith does not depend on the circumstances around us, but on God's promises. Believing Without Seeing Hebrews 11:7 highlights Noah's extraordinary faith. Like Noah, we are called to trust God's promises, even when they don't make sense or align with our understanding. Hebrews 11:7 says, "It was by faith that Noah built a large boat to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about things that had never happened before. By his faith Noah condemned the rest of the world, and he received the righteousness that comes by faith." (NLT) Noah's example encourages us to trust in God's plan, even when it’s unclear or unfamiliar. The Challenge of Standing Alone Noah faced ridicule and mockery for obeying God, as no one else believed the flood was coming. Yet, he remained steadfast and obedient to God's call. In a world that often mocks faith, we too must be willing to trust and obey God, even when it means standing alone. The journey of faith can be lonely, but Noah's example reminds us that God's promises are worth it. In this sermon, we explore how Noah’s faith in the face of the unknown can inspire and challenge us to trust God’s plan, even when the road ahead seems uncertain. Like Noah, we are called to remain faithful, even when it’s hard to understand why or what God is doing.
